I was driving back from Point Reyes with my friend when I got the news from Don, the son of the lady I had been taking care of for the last 13 years.

I traveled solo to Iceland in April of 2017. For eight days, I drove around the tiny island with my camera phone and an old GoPro.

I became a citizen of the United States on my best friend's birthday on the 25th of August in 2016. She would've turned 88 years young then. We would've had a celebration together.
