Iceland, 2017

I traveled solo to Iceland in April of 2017. For eight days, I drove around the tiny island with my camera phone and an old GoPro. As you can tell, this is not one of those amazing travel videos you can find on YouTube, but I am happy that I documented this trip. You know that feeling when you can be open and vulnerable with someone because they make you feel safe? It’s the same feeling I get when I travel to a foreign land. I have my mask off and no inhibitions whatsoever. I become my most authentic self. I am free to explore both internally and externally. And in that moment of absolute freedom, I rewrite my narrative by creating a feeling for my child self — blissful. I am a blissful child in an innocuous world.
